See what reached the outlet

Sena records what each outlet held on the day a contributor stood in it, and what buyers in that market took home.

  • 190+ countries
  • 5M+ consumer network
  • 250+ integrations
The problem

Where the view thins

Visibility is the ability to answer where a product is and whether a buyer can get it. Three patterns leave the second half of that question open.

01

The partner compiles the report

THE MEASURED WRITES THE MEASURE THE PARTNER ITS OWN FIGURE ONE VERSION OF ITSELF SEPARATE AUTHORS THE PARTNER A CONTRIBUTOR TWO READINGS, ONE MARKET

The availability figure arrives from the party whose availability is under review, on a template that party controls, at a cadence that party sets.

  • The measurement and the measured share an author.
  • A disputed figure has one version of itself.
02

Coverage follows the account list

INSIDE THE ACCOUNT LIST OUTSIDE THE FRAME A NEW MARKET REPORTS AS AN EMPTY ROW WHEREVER THE CATEGORY SELLS OWN LINES AND COMPETING LINES TOGETHER

Systems report on the outlets a company already sells into. The outlets a competing line reaches, and the ones a listing has yet to open, sit outside the frame entirely.

  • Market share of the view matches market share of the account base.
  • A market entered last quarter reports as an empty row.
03

Gaps surface after the period

THE WEEKS IT COVERS THE REPORT RECONSTRUCTED LATER BUYERS HAVE ALREADY SWITCHED CAPTURED HERE THE WEEK IT WENT ABSENT

An absence recorded in a monthly compilation reaches the team once the weeks it covers have closed. The correction lands against a period already spent.

  • The week a line went absent is reconstructed later.
  • Buyers who switched during it have already switched.
What Sena does for visibility

The outlet, captured directly

Sena is the decision AI with access to real-world data. Contributors stand in real outlets and record what each one holds, so the availability picture comes from the outlet itself, where a report describes it second hand.

The capture

Every outlet captured directly

Contributors record the lines present and the lines gone, in outlets across the markets named, dated to the day of capture.

  • Presence per outlet, market, line and day.
  • Capture runs reaching outlets in 190+ countries.
The evidence

Absence recorded with evidence

A line missing across repeated captures marks a gap, and the photograph of the slot travels with the figure.

  • A geo-verified photo under every availability figure.
  • The market and the date attached to each capture.
The coverage

Coverage set by the market

Capture runs follow where the category sells, so competing lines and unlisted outlets sit inside the same picture.

  • Own lines and competing lines counted together.
  • Outlets a listing has yet to reach still reporting.
The method

Building supply chain visibility

Visibility holds up on two things: how far down the chain the view reaches, and whether the party reporting a figure is the party the figure describes.

THE FIRST HALF, ANSWERED IT LEFT THE SECOND HALF, A DIFFERENT CLAIM WHAT THE OUTLET HELD ON A NAMED DAY
01

Supply chain visibility explained

Supply chain visibility is the ability to answer, for a named product and market, where the goods are and whether a buyer can obtain them. Most implementations answer the first half well and the second half by inference.

A shipment record proves the product left. What the outlet held on Thursday is a different claim, and it needs a different kind of evidence.

The four visibility tiers

Four tiers describe how far a view reaches, and each is a step further from the company's own systems.

Tier 01

Internal

Orders, shipments and warehouse movements. Complete, owned, and it ends at dispatch.

Tier 02

First tier

The immediate customer or partner, reporting on itself.

Tier 03

Channel

Movement through wholesale and retail, assembled from partner feeds where those feeds exist.

Tier 04

Outlet and buyer

What sat in the outlet on a given day, and what the buyer took home. This is the tier where availability becomes a measurement, where every tier above it infers.

Downstream against upstream visibility

The term carries two readings, and a page answering one leaves the other open.

DirectionThe questionThe evidence
UpstreamWhere the goods came from, and under what conditions.Supplier declarations, certifications, audit records.
DownstreamWhere the goods reached, and whether a buyer got them.Outlet captures, dated photographs, recorded purchase.

Sena answers the downstream half. Sourcing transparency, supplier declarations and origin audits belong to the upstream systems, and Sena sets its answer beside them.

Four inputs behind the picture

The availability picture comes from four collected inputs, applied per market.

InputWhat it answers
Store capturesWhat each outlet held on the day, line by line, in the markets named.
Geo-verified photosThe outlet as the capture found it, carrying the place and the time.
ReceiptsWhat buyers took home from that market, so presence reads against movement.
Stated preferenceWhere buyers went once a line had gone, which prices the loss.

The team's own numbers form a separate row. Service level exports, shipment records and partner feeds join through 250+ integrations, so an internal figure sits beside the outlet capture that tests it.

What a visibility claim needs

Four conditions decide whether an availability figure survives a review.

  • The observer is independent of the observed. A partner reporting its own service level is describing itself.
  • The date is on the record. An availability claim missing its capture date describes an unspecified week.
  • Absence is recorded alongside presence. A system that logs what shipped records the gap by omission, which reads the same as a missing feed.
  • Coverage matches the question. A view of the accounts a company holds answers a question about those accounts.

Where the view ends

Sena reports the downstream half: what the outlet held, and what the buyer took home. Freight movements, lead times, supplier operations and warehouse stock stay with the team's own systems. The line is drawn where a contributor can stand, which is the outlet.

Direct from real consumers

Shared under explicit consent

Real people share what they buy and prefer, under explicit consent. Sena captures it directly at the source, so every figure traces back to where it came from whenever a number comes under question.

SeparateAuthors

Independent of the reporter

The capture comes from a contributor standing in the outlet, so the figure and the party it describes have separate authors.

Absence carries a photograph

A line recorded missing arrives with the image of the slot, dated and placed, which settles the argument in the room.

Coverage follows the category

Capture runs go where the product sells, so an outlet outside every existing feed still enters the picture.

How Sena reaches the answer

What visibility rests on

An availability figure carries weight only as far as the observation behind it

Most figures are compiled by the party being measured. Sena builds every figure on this page from real-world signal captured when the question needs it, from a contributor standing in the outlet through to the dated photograph a service level review opens.

Consumer activity

Records what buyers in each market took home, so presence in an outlet reads against movement out of it.

Computer vision

Reads the lines present and the slots empty off images captured in real outlets, counting an absence as an absence.

Zero-party data

Signal arrives from the consumer network under explicit consent. The line a buyer switched to comes from that buyer.

Connect the team's systems

Service level exports, shipment records and partner feeds join through 250+ integrations, so an internal figure reads against the capture that tests it.

Trace every answer

Every capture holds its outlet, its market and its date, so an availability figure reopens on the photograph underneath it.

From files to databases

Sena draws historic service level reports and partner compilations into one place, so each period the team has measured sits together.

Who owns it

Who needs the view

Four teams read the same capture, and each one needs a different cut of it before they can act.

Logistics and fulfilment

The delivery. Needs proof each outlet received what was sent to it.

Commercial and account teams

The partner conversation. Needs a dated capture, where a compiled report carries one author.

Demand planning

The period. Needs an availability gap separable from a fall in wanting.

Category and range

The listing. Needs presence per outlet type, own lines and competing lines together.

02

Consumer tech

Which models landed in the market, and what a buyer found in stock.

03

Pharmacy and health

Which pack sizes made it to the counter, and which went missing.

04

Telecom

Handset and SIM availability across the outlets selling the plan.

The mechanism

Consumer to availability, three steps

One mechanism, applied per market and per outlet type. Each step is documented, which is what makes an availability figure defensible.

Step 01 · Capture

Capture

Real contributors stand in outlets across the markets named and record what each one holds, with a geo-verified photograph.

  • A photograph on every capture
  • Explicit consent, place and time attached
Step 02 · Track

Track

Sena builds a dated presence record per line, outlet and market, with recorded purchase alongside it.

  • Presence and absence both recorded
  • Recorded purchase running alongside
Step 03 · Report

Report

Any availability figure opens to the capture, the market and the day behind it.

  • The photograph opens under the figure
  • Defensible inside the review
What changes

Recorded, then reported

Most availability figures are compiled by the party whose availability is under review. Sena records the outlet directly.

FAQ

Supply chain visibility questions

01 What is supply chain visibility?
Supply chain visibility means being able to say, for one product in one market, where the goods sit and whether a buyer can get hold of them. Internal systems answer the first half from orders and shipments. The second half is a claim about what sat in an outlet on a given day, and it calls for an observation taken there.
02 Why does supply chain visibility matter?
Because a gap at the outlet reads identically to soft demand in the numbers above it. Six weeks of a line absent from one outlet type looks like a category slowing down, and the correction runs in the wrong direction. Recording presence and absence at the outlet keeps a supply answer and a demand answer apart.
03 What are the levels of supply chain visibility?
Four. Internal covers orders, shipments and warehouse movements. First tier covers the immediate customer reporting on itself. Channel covers movement through wholesale and retail where partner feeds exist. Outlet and buyer covers what sat in the outlet on a given day and what the buyer took home, which is where availability becomes a measurement.
04 What is the difference between supply chain visibility and traceability?
Traceability follows a unit backward to its origin, through suppliers, batches and conditions of manufacture. Visibility answers where goods are now and whether a buyer can obtain them. Traceability is an upstream question answered by declarations and audit records. Sena answers the downstream half, from the outlet and the buyer.
05 How do companies improve supply chain visibility?
By adding the observation existing systems leave open. Internal data covers dispatch. Partner feeds cover the accounts a company already holds, compiled by those partners. The step that changes the picture is an independent capture at the outlet, dated and photographed, covering every market where the category sells, including the ones outside the account list.
06 What is downstream supply chain visibility?
Downstream visibility covers everything after dispatch: what reached the channel, what sat in each outlet, and what the buyer took home. It is the half most systems infer. Upstream visibility runs the other direction, toward suppliers and origin. The two use different evidence and answer different questions.
07 How does Sena record what is on sale in a market?
Contributors capture outlets across the markets named and record what each one holds, line by line, with a geo-verified photograph. The outlet, the market and the date travel with every capture. Repeat runs across a period build a dated presence record, so a line missing across successive captures reads as a gap with images underneath it.
08 How does Sena identify an out of stock?
By recording the same outlet across repeated capture runs. A line present in earlier captures and absent in later ones, with the slot photographed, is a strong availability signal. Whether the cause is a stockout or a delisting is the next question, and the pattern narrows it: a delisting holds across every outlet in the type, where a stockout usually clears.
09 Does Sena cover supplier and freight visibility?
Sena works the downstream half: what reached the outlet and what the buyer took home. Freight movements, lead times, supplier operations and warehouse stock stay with the team's own systems, and Sena sets its answer beside them. The boundary follows the evidence, since a contributor can stand in an outlet and record what it holds.
